Well, the wind Gods smiled down on us as Friday dawned and it was blowing a good'un! but by the time we got down the beach around 3 the tide was a long way out and it was getting late in the day so the decision was made to come back tomorrow earlier in the morn.
Saturday morning, 10am at St Ouens and the wind looks good for kiting. The forecast is 5 to 6 but to drop as the morning went on. I set up the 12 and had about an hour and a half of fun before the wind decided to drop.
St Ouens is a brilliant place for kite surfing with a hardy bunch of really good kiters which keeps on growing in size every year we come back. There is loads of room, quite a contrast to Vazon in Guernsey and the waves pack a real punch so you need to be of a pretty good level.
Sunday morning, 10am and we arrive at St Ouens with the wind blowing from the Sou-west. There are kites and windsurfers flying all over the place. Today was a day for sailing with a little more direction for jumping and riding I rigged the 4.7 and set off for an hour and half of mental wave sailing.
The jersey windsurfers are all amped up and the local boys are sailing really well with the majority of guys flying over the front and launching into the occasional backie. Everybody is stoked with conditions, nice head high waves and plenty of power on the 4.7.
All in all it was pretty much the perfect weekend...Hopefully we'll get some more with the Jersey crew and below are a few shots from the trip taken by my good lady!!
