It's been an exceedingly raw start to the new year. The Nor-east wind has been blowing for what seems like an eternity. Windsurfing in these conditions can be a horrible experience with the dreaded numb finger syndrome kicking in! So even thinking about heading out when the air temp is hovering just above freezing is a definate no no.

On the other hand (excuse the pun) going out for a kitesurf in these conditions is quite possible as using gloves whilst kiting does not hinder the rider as much as windsurfing-that is another bonus of doing both sports.

Saturday the 13th of February has just passed and it was a cracking day. The Nor-east wind was blowing at around 25knots and Pembroke was looking sweet. It's a great bay for kiting with lots of room and plenty of small kicker waves to punch off. Here is a short vid and some photos shot by Dimi of me and a couple of mates enjoying the conditions. Suprisingly it was quite warm once I was suited and booted and well worth venturing in...

Vazon beach Cross-off perfection!

Vazon beach is our main sailing spot here on Guernsey. The bay faces Nor-west but can pick up most atlantic swells. Occasionally the forces of mother nature come together and give us some quality wave riding conditions. These photos were taken Nov/Dec last year, the wind was from the south and the tide was half out and dropping. The pictures speak for themselves... I can only describe it as pure ecstasy!!
